SHU Transform
A higher education preparation programme
Starting in Y12 and running through to Y13, SHU Transform gives students the opportunity to explore and experience student life at Sheffield Hallam University
The SHU Transform programme is for Y12 students with an interest in one of the subject strands and an ambition to go on to University.
Students will select one of five subject strands;
– Business and Finance – Computing – Health – Law – Psychology
Through five applied and engaging on-campus experiences, they will develop the knowledge and skills to support their progression into higher education.

The Programme
Students will need to be available for each of the following on-campus dates. Lunch will be provided on each day.
On day one, students will find out more about SHU Transform and university study. They will get to know their team mates, meet the staff and students supporting them through the programme, and begin working on the innovation challenge.
The second day focuses on each specific subject-strand including interactive tasters and tours led by academic staff and current students. There will also be opportunity to develop teamwork skills while continuing with their innovation challenge.
Day three is careers focused, with the opportunity to meet industry professionals in each chosen subject strand and reflect on next steps as students move into Y13.
Day four will develop students skills in communicating ideas. Students will be supported to apply this to their innovation challenge.
The final date of the programme is students’ opportunity to showcase their innovation challenge to the staff and students who have supported them throughout the programme. Parents, Carers and teachers are welcome to join us in celebrating the student’s work and achievements.
Beyond the on-campus dates, students will continue to have access to their dedicated contact, the online portal and virtual support sessions.
