Hackathon: Women in IT Tackling Environmental Challenges
Women in IT (WiT) tackling environmental challenges hackathon is a challenge aimed at technical, school level students, which aims to propose technological hardware or software solutions for the development of solutions to tackle environmental challenges with a focus on the demands of the female identifying audience. It is a 6-hour hackathon, with a special focus on:
Circular Economy, Mobility, Food Systems, Waste Management, Energy consumption, Extreme Weather
With a focus on teamwork, design thinking and prototyping, we want to look for innovative tech solutions for climate change. As a plus, each team will be paired with a female academic, so they can witness first-hand how to propose the tech-based solutions.
Teams will have multiple check ins with their assigned mentor over the coming weeks, ending in a Hackathon day on campus on the 21st June- 10:00-15:00.
