The Department of Computing teaches courses in a wide range of specialisms, including computer science, software development/engineering, cyber security, digital forensics, business and IT, smart technologies, and games development. It is at the heart of a passionate computing community, including student societies devoted to games development, digital forensics, and programming.
Our hands-on, and applied, computing and IT courses give students the knowledge and skills to get on in an in-demand and highly skilled industry. They’ll learn on some of the latest technologies and get practical experience through our links with major corporations, technology companies and digital media specialists.
Our team of experts in the department have put together a series of interactive and stimulating talks and masterclasses that give insight and tasters into the different areas of computing. We can facilitate specific one-off sessions or bigger taster days that include wider aspects of university life.
