Post 16 Offer

POST 16 ACTIVITY FOR SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

We aim to raise the awareness of the opportunities available in Higher Education for students within schools and colleges.

Sheffield Hallam University offer talks and workshops to support students to make an informed decision regarding higher education. The outreach activity is categorised in to three main areas: Deciding, Applying and Connecting.

All of the talks and workshops are suitable for Year 12, Year 13 or Mature Students. The activities can be delivered in-school or on-campus. On-campus visits provide students with an unforgettable experience of what life is like studying at University. Below is an example of what a taster day can include. Please note that sessions are interchangeable and timings can be tailored to meet the needs of the school.

Have students outside of this age group? Want a subject specific activity? Please visit our Pre 16 offer or Subjects offer.

Deciding: Providing students with information to help them make an informed decision about higher education. Deciding whether higher education is a route a student wants to take can be a difficult one. We have designed talks and workshops to support students to make the right decision for them.

Applying: Providing students with information regarding applying for university and giving them the opportunity to apply their knowledge through interactive workshops. Applying for university can be tricky to navigate. From completing the UCAS application to applying for student finance, we offer support to students to help them on their journey to higher education.

Connecting: Providing insight into life at university. Connecting to university can help raise aspiration and support students with transition. It enhanced students understanding of university and gives an insight into what life would be like to study at Sheffield Hallam University.
