Sheffield Business School Experience Days – EdVenture Challenge 2026/27

We’re delighted to offer the EdVenture Challenge as part of our Sheffield Business School Experience Days in the 2026/27 academic year for students studying level 3 qualifications.

Our hands on activities not only bring classroom theory to life but build essential skills in teamwork, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial strategy.

Hallam EdVenture Challenge – What’s Involved

An exciting opportunity to explore university-level business education through a fun, fast-paced team challenge. 

In our Hallam EdVenture Challenge, students pitch for a £100K investment in a brand-new business idea. Working in teams, they’ll:

• • Select a new product for a chosen target market 

• • Make critical business decisions and develop marketing strategies 

• • Assess the financial viability of their venture 

• • Respond to business curveballs 

Throughout the taster day, students will build a business plan and prepare a compelling 2-minute pitch to convince our panel of EdVenture Angels to invest in their venture.

This immersive experience is designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and give students a taste of the exciting possibilities within business education. No advance preparation is necessary as all resources are provided.

Customisation

You can choose our Hallam EdVenture Challenge that incorporates Business Management, Accounting and Finance and Marketing, or request a bespoke experience to include a combination of the following subjects or industry sectors:

The EdVenture Challenge runs from 10:00–14:15. We recommend arriving from 9:45 for a prompt start.

Travel  

We recommend planning your travel arrangements in advance. As a city-centre university, we do not have on-site parking available; however, there are nearby privately owned car parks that we can direct you to.

For environmental reasons, and as we are conveniently located next to Sheffield train station and the Sheffield bus interchange, we encourage travel by public transport whenever possible.
