Geography & Environment Experience Days
We’re delighted to offer Geography Experience Days in the 2026/27 academic year for students studying Level 3 qualifications.
Explore global challenges through engaging and interactive sessions, taking a holistic approach to human and physical geography while developing innovative ideas for the future.
What’s Involved
Geography Experience Days at Sheffield Hallam University’s City Campus offer a taste of what it’s like to study geography in higher education.
These engaging sessions enhance curriculum learning, support progression in the subject, and complement careers education by highlighting how geography applies in real life and the wide range of career pathways it can lead to.
During the Experience Day, students will begin with a welcome talk delivered by a member of the academic team, providing an overview of the subject and the courses available.
Students will then take part in two masterclasses led by academics in the field of geography. These sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive, and typically focus on areas of human and physical geography currently being researched or taught, reflecting academic specialisms.
Students will also have the opportunity to take part in a campus tour, exploring the state-of-the-art facilities in the Redmires building, where they will gain insight into the environment in which they would study.

Travel
We recommend planning your travel arrangements in advance. As a city-centre university, we do not have on-site parking available; however, there are nearby privately owned car parks that we can direct you to.
For environmental reasons, and as we are conveniently located next to Sheffield train station and the Sheffield bus interchange, we encourage travel by public transport whenever possible.
