We’re delighted to offer Education & Childhood Studies Experience Days in the 2026/2027 academic year for students studying Level 3 qualifications.

Explore learning, development and the educational journey from early years through to adulthood in engaging and interactive sessions. You’ll gain insight into teaching, childhood development and inclusive practice.

What’s Involved

Education & Childhood Studies Experience Days at Sheffield Hallam University’s City Campus offer a taste of what it’s like to study these subjects in higher education.

These engaging sessions enhance curriculum learning, support progression in the subject, and complement careers education by highlighting how education and childhood studies applies in real life and the wide range of career pathways it can lead to.

During the Experience Day, students will begin with a welcome talk delivered by a member of the academic team, providing an overview of the subject and the courses available.

Students will then take part in two masterclasses led by academics in the fields of education and childhood studies. These sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive – typically focusing on subject areas currently being researched or taught, reflecting academic specialisms.

Students will also have the opportunity to take part in a campus tour, exploring the state-of-the-art facilities in the Charles Street building, where they will gain insight into the environment in which they would study.
