We’re delighted to offer an Accounting, Finance, Banking and Economics Experience Day in the 2026/27 academic year for students studying Level 3 qualifications.

Join Sheffield Business School for an interactive experience day where students will explore how accountants, economists, and financial analysts evaluate real companies.

What’s Involved

Accounting, Finance, Banking and Economics Experience Days at Sheffield Hallam University’s City Campus offer a taste of what it’s like to study these subjects in higher education.

Through hands-on activities, participants will analyse company financial statements, hear from industry alumni about careers in this sector, and use Bloomberg technology to build their own investment portfolios.

Working in teams, students will decide how to allocate investments across global companies such as AstraZeneca, Apple, and Tesla, competing to create the best-performing portfolio.

Our Accounting, Finance, Banking and Economics Experience Day offers a practical and engaging introduction to working in accounting, finance, banking, and economics, and we would love for you to join us! No advance preparation is necessary as all resources are provided.

Accounting, Finance, Banking and Economics Experience Days run from 10:00–14:30. We recommend arriving from 9:45 for a prompt start.

Travel  

We recommend planning your travel arrangements in advance. As a city-centre university, we do not have on-site parking available; however, there are nearby privately owned car parks that we can direct you to. 

For environmental reasons, and as we are conveniently located next to Sheffield train station and the Sheffield bus interchange, we encourage travel by public transport whenever possible.
